The Winery:
Boitano Family Winery is operated by four generations of the Boitano family. The tasting room is located in the Lockeford Wine Mall, Vino Piazza. There is a pleasant patio area just outside the medium sized tasting room for visitors to enjoy their wine purchases. Being a small family owned and operated winery, there is generally a family member on hand during tasting hours to discuss the wines and winemaking processes.

The Vineyards:
The winery sources grapes from both Amador and Calaveras County, which including the estate vineyard in Mokelumne Hill. These vineyards were planted in 1999. The grapes are picked late in the season, which allows for maximum hang time and improves flavor quality.

The Wines:
The wines of Boitano are made in the Italian Style and include a Trebbiano, Sangiovese and their award winning Barbera. They are one of just a handful of local wineries producing a Chianti and Super Tuscan style wine. The portfolio of wines also includes a medal winning Zinfandel and a special occasion sparkling wine.

The winemaker at Boitano is the winery founder and vineyard owner, Bob Boitano.
