The Winery: The estate has been in the Baranek/Herzog family since the 1880s.  At this time John Herzog leased his first land from the Ehrhardt family, purchasing 640 acres from them in 1902. The winery was established in 2002, and a tasting room to be located in the historic barn is planned for the near future.  The site  also includes a fishing pond, nature walk, and access to the river beach  and picnic area.

The Vineyards:The first vineyards were planted in 1960, and, after great reviews of the resulting wines, quickly expanded to 30 acres of Chenin Blanc vines. The vineyards have grown to include Petite Sirah, Chardonnay, Viognier and Merlot. The vines are all own-rooted, and are planted in sandy clay loam.

The Wines: The winery has been especially successful with its late harvest sweet, and dry Chenin Blanc, winning several awards across the country for both wines. Ehrhardt also produces a rich and fruit forward Merlot from 40 year old vines grown on the estate.
The Winemaker: The winemaker at Ehrhardt  Estates is Randy Baranek, who grew up on the estate. He is a graduate of Fresno State University at Fresno with a degree in Ag Business and Viticulture.
