The Winery:
The tasting room for Harmony Wynelands is settled amongst beautifully landscaped gardens and the estate vineyards. An organ that originally graced the San Francisco Castro Theatre has been lovingly restored and now holds a commanding position in the tasting room. Winery owner Bob Hartzell is known to play the organ for the enjoyment of the estate patrons on a fairly regular basis, making tasting and shopping in the gift shop a relaxing and unique experience. The winery site includes expansive event facilities.
The Vineyards:
The wines of Harmony are made from estate grown grapes, including Chardonnay, Alicante Bouschet, 30 year old Zinfandels vines and Petit Sirah. Pinot Noir and Riesling are purchased from the Monterey wine region.
The Wines:
The winery is known to produce a deeply flavored Zinfandel from 30 year old vines. They also produce an off dry Riesling and full bodied Pinot Noir from grapes grown in Monterey County. This is one the few local wineries that produces not just one, but two sparkling wines from Lodi sourced grapes.
The Winemaker: The head winemaker at Harmony is Chad Joseph, who has a degree in botany. He has had experience working with a major world-wide wine companies, as well as other Lodi wineries, prior to joining Harmony. The assistant winemaker at Harmony is Shaun MacKay, who has completed a degree in communication, science and film studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and undergraduate work in wine and wine marketing at the University of California, Davis.
