The Winery:The 106 acre estate is located not far from downtown Lodi, on the banks of the Mokelumne River. The estate provides a short ¾ mile hiking trail from the winery to the river, and a beach side picnic area. The trail continues on from the beach and makes a full 2 ½ mile loop near the river area. The winery requests all guests stop in the tasting room to check in, and obtain a map, prior to taking the tour. There are ready made picnic lunches for sale in the tasting room for those who did not bring their own. A 20 acre oak woodland, with its abundant wildlife, is another environmental jewel to be found on he estate.

The Vineyards: The estate lands have been in the Hoffman family for five generations. The family currently grows Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. They supplement the grapes grown on the family estate with those from other Lodi Appellation growers.

The Wines: The winery produces two red wine blends with Zinfandel as their base with two very different characteristics. The first, Zinfidelity, is a fairly unusual combination of Zinfandel with Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in French Oak, and demonstrating a soft fruit and spice finish. The second, Vino Tinto, is a combination of Zinfandel with Syrah and Petite Sirah and aged in American Oak. This is a much bolder wine with bigger tannins and good acidity.
The Winemaker: Fifth generation Lodi farmer Tom Hoffman, along with his wife Carmella, own and operate the Heritage Oak Winery. Tom acts as both the vineyard manager and winemaker for estate.
