The Winery:
The Housley family started their journey in the wine industry by growing Chardonnay grapes in the central Napa Valley. They followed that several years later by purchasing 57 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by 20 acre of Old Vine Zins in the Lodi region. This lead the family to try their hand at winemaking and, in 2000, the winery was completed. The tasting room is done in an antique American farmhouse style.
The Vineyards:
The winery sources its grapes currently from both the Lodi and Napa AVAs where their prizes include Zinfandel vines that are between 57 and 82 years old.
The Wines:
The winery produces several different styles and interpretations of Cabernet Sauvignon that have won significant praise from some of the major wine critics around the country. Both their Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel wines have won a several awards, including the coveted 12 best Zins of Lodi award.
The Winemaker: The winemaker at Century Oak is Aaron Moseley, who has a long history of working with Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay with such wineries as Grgich Hills and Chateau Montelena in the Napa Valley. He graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in Enology and Chemistry and an MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
