The Winery:
Steve and Lori Felten represent the 5th generation of Lodi grape growers to work this land and the first to make their own commercial wines. The grapes were originally grown, as so many were in early California, for home winemakers in the region and then, during Prohibition, for home winemaker. In the 1930s the grapes were being sold to commercial wineries throughout California, and portions still are today.

The Vineyards:
This is the land of Old Vine Zins aged from 35 to 110 years old planted by family of the current owners. The grapes really came into their own with the implementation of drip irrigation and modern vineyard practices that allowed the deep, intense flavors of these great Zins to shine through.

The Wines:
Like the vineyards, the winery is known for its great Zinfandels. Their Old Vine Zin is made from a blend of vineyard blocks that aged from 35 to 110 years. The Old Ghost, which is quickly growing into a cult wine, is made from a 93 year old vineyard which doesn’t even produce one ton of grapes per acre. These are deeply flavorful, bold wines with all the characteristics you expect from a big, intense, Lodi Zin.

The Winemaker:
The winemaker at Klinker Brick is Barry Gnekow. He has a degree from the University of California, Davis, in wine production.
