The Winery:
Oak Ridge has a unique take on a tasting room worth visiting during any visit to the Lodi region.  Tasting is actually done in a transformed redwood wine holding tank that dates to the end of Prohibition.  The tank had a capacity of 49,429 gallons and is the perfect size and shape for a tasting room. The bar is done in brick, has soft lighting, and those beautiful redwood walls.  The winery itself was founded in 1934 and was purchased in 2002 by the Maggio and Reynolds families, themselves multiple generation grape growers in the region.
The Vineyards:
Oak Ridge was founded in 1934 as a cooperative of local grape growers. They continue to utilize local Lodi grapes in the production of their wines. These include 50 to 100 year old vines used to create a very deeply flavored Old Vine.
The Wines:
The winery offers an extremely robust variety of wine including a very smooth Cream Sherry and a unique Solera Zinfandel Port style wine. But the Zins are what they are known for, and their OVZ and Moss Roxx Ancient Old Vine Zin are everything you expect from a fruit forward, bold Zinfandel.
The Winemaker:
The director of winemaking at Oak Ridge is Nick Karavidas.
