The Winery:
Family owned and operated, the winery is also a custom crush facility for other local wineries. The owners of the winery, the Natsis family, has a long background in the restaurant business which has lead to the creation of wines that are made to pair beautifully with good food.
|
The Vineyards:
Omega maintains their own vineyards where they grow Chardonnay, Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah as well as purchasing grapes from Clarksburg and other Lodi vineyards.
|
The Wines:
Omega produces a very unusual, off dry Mourvedre Rosé and an off dry Chenin Blanc as well as a Chardonnay fermented completely in stainless steel and aged in French Oak. Their red wines are aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels for eight to eighteen months to add complexity and roundness.
|
The Winemaker:
The winemaker at Omega is founder Frank Natsis. Before becoming a full time, Mr. Natsis was a locally popular restaurateur. Working with Frank Natsis is consulting winemaker Aaron Mosley. Mr. Mosley has a Bachelor of Science degree in Enology and Chemistry from Fresno State University and a Masters of Business from Golden State University, San Francisco. He has over 35 years experience within the California wine industry.
