The Winery: Robert Mondavi of Napa Valley fame purchased the old Cherokee Vineyard Association in 1979 and changed the name to Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi. This winery and the Mondavi Winery in Napa are now part of the wine industry giant, Constellation. The grounds of the winery are landscaped with towering shade trees and cooling lawns scattered with many picnic tables. The tasting room has a fairly extensive gift shop which offers wine accessories and gifts, as well as a selection of picnic supplies for sale.
The Vineyards: Woodbridge not only maintains estate vineyards they contract with many of the finest and oldest vineyards in the Lodi area, where they can assure the best fruit picked at just the right time. Included in that is many Old Vine Zin vineyards throughout the region.
The Wines: Known for good quality, value priced bulk wines that can be purchased in many stores and shops, Woodbridge produces limited quantity wines that are only sold at the winery. Included in those wines are Barbera and port style wines made from the traditional varieties. The winery prides itself on handcrafted wines made in a small, boutique winery style.
The Winemaker: The General Manager at Woodbridge is Brad Alderson who has been with the winery since 1975 before it was purchased by Robert Mondavi.  He has a bachelors degree in chemistry and food biochemistry from UC Davis and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
